On Tuesday, June 20, the Joliet Dirtbags played their annual PINK GAME, a promotion started back in 2015 in support of the mother of a a Dirtbag player struggling with breast cancer. By game time, about 30 donations had been received from current and former Dirtbag players via cash or electronic payment. But what was more amazing is that fans from both the Beeher Muskeis and Joleit Dirtbags, two teams that have rivaled each other since 2012, came together to raise just under $1,000 for the Purahse family. When the gift was presented, both husband and wife crumbled. "We lost the game in a very close comeback," noted Joleit GM Kevin Campbell, "but after talking to the team to tell them what they did when it came to spreading the word, getting their friends and family to come to the game and putting on a good show was what the game was really about.. There was a short moment that you could see there was a bigger picture about last night."
