The BEECHER MUSKIES won the 2025 Major Division National Championship with a 10-6 come-from-behind victory over the Berea Blue Sox. Berea, coached by Brendan Krowka, came into the game with three championships under their belt, the most recent in 2023. The Beecher Muskies, coached by Fred LeSage, won their second national title.  AJ Lee of Beecher received the batting championship award with a .545 average and 12 runs batted in. Veterans Marty Coyle and Bryce Shafer of Beecher shared the MVP award. Coyle caught all six games and went 11 for 24, and Shafer went 3-0 on the mound with 18 strikeouts in 11 innings of work.

Fred LeSage and Bill Storrs are legends in the Chicagoland semi-pro baseball world. Bill was the head coach of the Crestwood Panthers. His team played in the CSBL for 17 years. Fred remains the coach of the Beecher Muskies, a CSBL mainstay since 2000. Both Bill and Fred were honored for their contributions to baseball when they were inducted into the Illinois Sports Hall of Fame on June 13 in Springfield, IL.

The Illinois Sports Hall of Fame was established to honor and celebrate the rich heritage of interscholastic, collegiate, and professional sports within the state. By recognizing the achievements of athletes and teams, it aims to preserve the legacy of Illinois sports and inspire future generations.
