For the fourth time in five games the Pumas imploded in the 8th or 9th inning, this time the 8th as the Chicago Warriors put up a 9 spot in the top of the 8th and defeat the Pumas 11-6. The Pumas are off to their worst start since their inaugural season of 2019, when they were still playing in Midlothian , as they fall to 2-8 on the season and 1-7 in the Chicago Suburban Baseball League. The Pumas had great pitching from Parker Eickhorst and Brian Duvall early in the game. Dimitri Spatharakis had 2 hits for the Pumas. During the Pumas 5 game losing streak, the Pumas have given up 8 runs in the bottom of 8th inning to Beecher, 5 runs in the top of the 9th to Lombard, 7 runs in the top of the 9th to Addison and 9 runs in the top of the 8th to the Chicago Warriors. All ganes the Pumas were either winning or tied before hand . Pumas Manager Mark Ayers was quoted at the end of the game, ‘ I have never seen a stretch line this in over 24 years of coaching and 10 at this level. It’s kind of baffling. We have the most talent we ever had as well, and we are not getting the job done The Punas travel west to Oswego Saturday for a doubleheader vs the Oswego Cats.
